In all honestly, I think it will be fuctional. Heres the build I see people running:

Shadow Strike
Opp Gaze
Vamp Gaze
JD
{Monk/Necro Elite}
{Monk/Necro Skill}
{Monk skill}
Res Sig

16 blood
9 soul
10 heal/prot

You do same basic spike with SS/OG, but you finish off the spike with VG/JD, depending on whats recharged. Could work, what are your opinions?

You don't need 4 spike skills IMO. Shadow Strike, Vamp Gaze and Opressive Gaze would do the trick, would it not?

Yeah, in the Preview event, my guild ran NR/Tranq with a Boon Prot (or Blight) and a WoH with Infuse. We came against multiple Bloodspikes that couldn't spike down a single target, even without infuse.

I played in an ok blood spike in the preview weekend with 6 necros. We got on some decent win streaks.

But it's not robust at all. There is a lot of things you might face that you won't manage to counter because you simply won't have what it takes (and don't blame 6v6, if you run a total gimmick build it's normal to have holes somewhere).

And mostly your spike is SO tight (meaning 0 overkill) that if any Necro is interrupted, it fails. A PD Mesmer would make your spike pretty much impossible to do.

No need for that many spike skills.....

You might get away with it, but FoC/Desc has a way better chance. Too bad without the Rit's it's got no chance for energy management =/

6 man blood-spike WILL work, wheni sued to run blood spike i only rank 5 spiekrs anyway.. so 5 spikers and ri/r would be fine. However i hate OG spike

I dont think it will die... I think it will evolve and be more challenging. You also should consider Nightfall effects and of course the new maps... lets wait for that...but I dont think a build will die...if ppl love it they will change it to something that works...

There were several B Spikes over the weekend, some were good, some were bad. Not many teams had infuse so the spikes got thru easy. B spike isnt just gonna disappear yet.

During the event, it wasn't doable with 5 spikers. The guy who normally infuses for us was stopping spikes with Blight. Granted this was normally an SS-Gaze spike, but even the OG spikes sucked, because our infuser would just remove Weakness with Blight before the spikers could hit us. We were running a CG, and if he interrupted only 1 spiker, our monk didn't even need Blight, the spike did minimal damage.

I have only ever really run Old School B-spike, 5 spikers, 2 spammers and a SB/infuse. Just takes more skill with 5 spikers.. all this you need 7 spikers is bullshit jsut makes it easy to get fast fame with 7

Yes, it will die, end of story. The reason blood spike is so widespead right now is because 7 scrubs and press Opp Gaze on 1 and spike down targets with little to no effort. With only 6 character slots, spikes will be much easier to infuse; as a result, less groups will run blood spike. Not to mention PD, choking gas, CoF, knockdowns, etc, etc.

Most blood spikers have their Scarred Earth and Burial Mounds Grandmaster Cartographer title by now; I praise the Lord that I no longer have to chase 6 or 7 dumb necromancers for a half hour just for 1 or 2 fame.

The focus on rangers was quite prominent in 6vs6, specifically in NR/TQ builds. Their interrupts and degen pressure will beat necrospike everytime, unless you manage to get off a lucky 2 kill OG spike or something.

Seriously you can't have enough defense/versatility with 6 players for a blood spike. You just can't.

You'll run with 1 QZ R and 5 Necros? And how will you hold the pressure if 1-2 spikes are interrupted (very easy overall if they have any spell interrupt, and they only need to interrupt 1 guy and your spike will be a complete failure) and their full team is on your back? You won't have enough energy to heal-spike-heal-spike. If 1-2 spikes are interrupted and the other team has wars or the like in your face, it's over. You won't be solid enough to hold on.

It will still work against things like Vimway. We totally destroyed Vimway with it in the weekend, because they don't have range interrupts or real healers. And will possibly destroy any unorganized group.

But if Blood spike stays, it's gonna become what IWAY was : fame farming in the first 2-3 maps, then you face a good team and lose. The fact that 1 interrupt makes the spike fail just won't allow it to work against too many builds.

As others have said, there just isn't enough damage in the spike. You can still run it, yeah, and you'll get some wins, but bloodspike was already pretty easy for an experienced team to beat and this makes it twice as bad.
